things i dont take on the plane
this is all the stuff i take out of my bag, and off my person to go to an airport

see, THIS is why i hate terrorists, AND the government
if my plane goes down, i'd NEED this stuff!

i mean, its not like i'm not dangerous with what i DO take or anything, or things that i can find there, but MAN, when you have kit . . .and have to leave it behind. . . gah!

Oh, and if you're plane goes down, you'll also need a parachute. ;)

Okay, I haven't flown in a while.... No safety razors? And is that a Ti spork?

i take the razor out of my carry on, just in case, the Ti spork was -almost- confiscated, i managed to have them let me back out of securty and then had to -check- my carry on, leaving me juggling my bottle, book, laptop and unhappy.

Honestly? You should be able to take everything in that picture other than the knife (Trade it for a really long metal nail file. No, I'm not kidding.), the corkscrew (Though I carried mine on dozens of flights before the took it away.), the multi-tool...and are those firestarters? Yeah, probably those too. Everything else should be fine...even the long metal things. Since there are two, you could always say they are knitting needles, which are explicitly permitted on planes.

What are the long metal things?

the long metal things are chopsticks (Korean)
i have had my zip-ties and Allen keys confiscated this year.
my diamond stones are too valuable to me to risk, the fire starter got confiscated too.

Why in the world did you have your Allen keys and zip-ties confiscated?? Did they give you a reason?

I finally got my corkscrew, almost like yours, confiscated earlier this year. I'd carried it on at least 20 flights. They ignored the tiny Swiss Army knife I had.

I can understand about the diamond stones.

apparently there is a "no tools" rule . .. they did not give me an explanation, and the goon was reaching towards his holster, so i "hands-up" and handed over my stuff

Ahh...never argue with the guy who's reaching for his gun.

FYI...tools smaller than 7 inches in length are just fine. I just checked the website. :P

Most TSA folks, while nice and overworked, really don't know what can and cannot be brought on a plane.

I can answer that. If the fuckers ever left me sitting on the runway for 2 fucking hours again, and left me tools, i would fuckign take the plane apart from the inside out.
